The Institute of American Acupuncture and Life Medicine (IAALM) recognizes health as essential to life. IAALM delivers health care to under served people in the St. Louis area, provides health education to the general public and professionals as well as seeking to advance the understanding of acupuncture.

Practitioners

Who Are Practitioners?

All current practitioners are nationally board certified in Acupuncture (National Certification Commission of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine) and are Licensed Acupuncturists in the State of Missouri.

There are two licensed acupuncturists in the St. Louis area who volunteer their time and skills to IAALM clinics:

  • Thomas E. Duckworth began his studies over 30 years ago under the tutelage of Dr. M. Masahilo Nakazono, O-sensei; founder of Kototama Life Medicine. He has been in full-time clinical practice since 1979. He was appointed to be a teacher in Dr. Nakazono's KOTOTAMA INSTITUE in 1980. He was presented the Doctor of Kototama Life Medicine degree by M. M. Nakazono O-sensei in 1987. He has been in practice in St. Louis since 1998. See Dr. Duckworth's bio
  • Jason R. Hackler, L.Ac. began his studies of Inochi Te a Te and Kototama Medicine in 1994 in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Bilingual, he worked with psychologically damaged, multi-cultured teens in a co-ed residency center. He received his license of Doctor of Oriental Medicine from New Mexico in 1999.
