In this two day workshop presented by the Institute of American Acupuncture & Life Medicine, the participant studies “the way of the hands” for guiding energy (ki) back to optimal function in clinical practice. In the Nakazono Kototama Inochi Medicine lineage, a student of Meridian Therapy learns to address deficiency and excess through Hand-Ki before the study of needling and moxibustion even begin. Tools, such as acupuncture needles, are seen as sacred in the Kototama Inochi tradition and are grasped as an extension of the hands. Inochi TeATe, Anma (traditional Japanese massage) and Shiatsu (modern meridian massage), and their relationship to Tsubo (meridian points) will be discussed, studied, and practiced in a manner that will allow the participant to incorporate these techniques immediately into clinical practice. This two-day workshop provides 15 PDA points (NCCAOM pending).

This two day workshop presented by the Institute of American Acupuncture & Life Medicine will teach an avenue to create a clinical pediatric practice. The course may also be valuable to practitioners who already have a pediatric practice by furthering and expanding their studies. Shonishin, developed in Japan, is “needleless acupuncture,” ideal for infants and young children, who often fear needles. In the Kototama Inochi lineage, tactile therapy has been fully integrated within a Shonishin treatment. This workshop will provide methods for examining and diagnosing, Shonishin techniques with various tools, moxibustion (Chose) approaches, and tactile therapy techniques that can all be effectively implemented into clinical practice. Introduce dietary, herbal, and homeopathic considerations in pediatric care will also be presented. This two-day workshop provides 15 PDA points (NCCAOM pending).
